Fortune 12

Fortune 12

I'm Kind of a loner. What I mean is I don't leave my apartment all that often and I only leave for my job and to buy food, and I especially hate crowds. I also don't have many friends, though I have two solid friends, Tyrone and Greta. We met in high school and vowed we'd be there for each other till the end. But we haven't been so close since college, Tyrone went off to a college in Philadelphia, Greta moved to Cleveland with her family, I don't know why she never told us, but that was four years ago, I thought that maybe both Tyrone and Greta want to come back to tumbleville, fo good times sakes. But I am a procrastinator so it was a full week till I got to it.
It was a snowy Tuesday in January and the time was nearing 6:30 and I had just finished making my TV dinner and I plopped myself on my little green sofa. I turned the TV to CLS news station. “Finally the new casino has opened on East spruce street, The owner local star Jack Garmen has released a statement saying that the first appearance you make in Fortune 12 casino will reward you 100 free tokens!” I looked up from my Salisbury steak in surprise and listened in. “He has also said that with the addition of friends that will be raised by 100 per person” That Sparked my urge to see my friends again.
Then the TV caught my attention again. “Local Native Americans protest the opening of the fortune 12 casinos,” I thought why would someone protest a casino that's like the best thing in the world, I decided to listen back in.”They say that the casino was built over the ancient burial site to the Shawnee Native people” I rolled my eyes and got back to my food. After eating I pulled out my computer and opened email.
I thought back to when Tyrone, Greta and I would email each other all the time. miraculously I remember Greta's email but couldn't seem to remember Tyrone's. I prayed that it was still her email. I decided to just email Greta and hope that she remembered. I began to type, Dear Greta Its Joshua I was just wondering if you wanted to stop back in tumbleville? Me, you and Tyrone, (I don't have Tyrone's email, if you do can you forward this to him.) Also, they’ve opened a new casino in town and we got one free night. I wanted to take you guys there. I stopped there, the email was short and sweet. Then I went along with my day. I took a shower, brushed my teeth, took my pills, I have a severe anxiety disorder and I need to take pills twice a day, I then got in bed. Just as I felt slumber close my eyes I got a notification on my phone, it was a reply from Greta. It read, Hey Joshua! Long time no see I’d love to come back. I've been saving up to go back anyway so this was perfect and I was able to contact Tyrone and he said he'd have a road trip there, we’ll be there by Thursday.
I was so excited my two best and really only friends were coming back. I was antsy and I'm never very excited about anything. The last time I was excited was when Tyrone, Greta and I went to Hershey Park for our class senior year. The next day went by like a breeze of wind, I was thinking about the adventures we would have on Thursday.
By the time I got back home I flopped on my couch with more TV dinners. I flicked on the TV and heard the anchor speak, “Local Man, Kyle Smith Missing after Night at Fortune 12, The Shawnee Chief warns,”this is the beginning” I shrugged it off, People go missing all the time after getting drunk and wondering into the mountains and are found a day later. Plus the city has had a high crime rate since i was in middle school, fifth most dangerous right after Upper Darby. I turned off the TV and decided to email Greta Some details of where we would meet,
I began typing, Hey Greta, Joshua again, I wanted to give you the address of the Casino and some general times frames of when to be there. The casino is on East spruce street, and we meet at 6:30pm. Thank you, please forward to Tyrone. It was only a short while later when I got a confirmation email. I crawled into bed and took my pills.I feel asleep.
Then I woke up or at least i thought I did. I woke up inside the casino. It was me and Greta. We were standing near a slot machine then everyone around us disappeared and the lights snapped off. The walls of the Casino crumbled to the floor and, tree shot up from the ground and It began to snow. I looked around, and noticed Greta and Tyrone had disappeared. I continued to hear a low groaning coming from around me. Then I saw movement out of the corner of my eye.i it was a black figure slouched over and it stood on its hind legs.it almost looked like a person. I began to walk forward looking around me, I then saw a lantern in front of me, I started to walk faster. then the snow began to deepen and the snow began to fall hard. I heard growls and groans near me it felt like it was behind me. When I finally got to the lantern it disappeared, and I looked up to the trees. What scared the life out of me, Greta and Tyrone were strung up in the trees, their organs ripped out and laying within the branches of their tree. A stick had been plowed through the abdominal region. Blood was seeping down the tree. The blood began to taint the snow around the tree. I felt breathing behind me, it was warm and moist, It was almost comforting in the snow. But I knew I had to turn around. I did and a figure launched on me and then I woke up. I was drenched in a cold sweat, I looked over at my alarm clocked.
It was only 9:43 I went to bed at 9.I laid in bed all night. I couldn't seem to fall asleep. Every time I got close I began to sweat again and my eyes got stapled open by the time I had fallen asleep. Then my alarm went off, it was 6:30. I barely had the strength to turn off the alarm.I laid there for another hour. When I regained a level of consciousness I realized I was on track to be an hour late for work. I mustered the strength to get up and do my daily routine. I caught the bus and headed to work. I had gotten the job as an account for a local business. The Job was terrible and boring but it paid well so I never thought about leaving, even if I hated my co-worker and my boss was a douche bag.
I did my usual work day just 30 minutes late. Surprisingly the boss man as i like to call him wasn't angry i didn't know why. During lunch break something interesting happened. I was sitting down and the news turned on. The anchor began speaking,
“Fortune 12 owner, Jack Garmen goes missing, then the woman's voice got distorted it was like she was speaking a forgien language almost like latin, I took a semester in college. Then a video began to play, It started with a man running through the woods. Snow still covered the ground. The man was panting heavily.the video continues to cut out as the man was running. Alongside him were the sounds of hissing and growling, the noises were similar to the sounds I heard in my dreams. A dim light radiated in front of the camera, the snow began to rise and then it began to fall harder and a harsh wind could be heard. The man struggled to get out the light and by the time he got there it was gone.A voice could be heard coming from the woods, “Is anybody there” it croaked, “I need help” there where a series of voices cracks and it almost sounded like an older woman.. The man yelled back in a cautious tone,” I'm here to follow my voice” A tall black figure began to uncover itself from the shadows. It was thin, dangerously thin. Parts of its bones were visible through its skin and little muscle. It looked to be seven feet tall, and it had red glowing eyes. Its hands had claws and was horribly slouched over. It almost looked like the thing I saw in my dream. As quickly as it appeared the thing was gone, and so was the man recording. Blood gushed from his neck as he dropped to the floor. The creature looked down at the camera with a curious look, but then it vanished.
my head hit the table. Joshua woke to his co-workers shaking him relentlessly. Joshua Begun to raise his head he noticed drool had pooled around his mouth. His co-workers said he explained to him he dropped cold out of the blue. I couldn't believe that, I asked around if anyone else saw the video that the news had played, everyone shrugged their heads and said that o\the weather was on TV.They asked if i wanted to go home and they'd tell the bossman what happened so i took the day off.
it was about 1 when i was home. I Emailed Greta again, So how are you making out? Are you close? Getting the old cow poop smell yet? I didn't really expect a response but around an hour later, I got a response. Hey Joshua I'm on William Dill Highway 30 minutes away and I could for sure smell the cow poop again it's great!I chuckled a bit after reading the final sentence. I emailed one more time and asked if she had any info about Tyrone? She replied quickly, Oh Ya He's somewhere North of Pittsburgh, He said he is around an hour away. I got up from my couch and layed down my computer. And took a fifthteen minute nap.but when i woke up i felt nauseated and i felt like i got a full night of Sleep but with the worst quality. I got up and felt deprived of food and remember I haven't eaten since the morning.
My phone had four notifications, all emails from Greta. 1:45 Hey Joshua's i can see the old clock tower! 2:30 Hey i booked a room in the lucky 13 motel if you wanna come by, 3:50 hey Tyrone just got here he's gonna bunk with me at the motel, i really think you should stop by. 4:50, Hey me and Tyrone are about to get ready to leave we’ll meet you there. I felt a boost of adrenaline when I realized that it was 4 and I got to moving, I brushed my teeth, got in the shower, picked some clothes, ate some chips, and left the house. I had left around 5:20.I had to drive through a bit of the forest to get to the casino. I turned onto Mckinley street where the forest started. It was around a 5 mile stretch of road.I began to drive.I played my favorite rock band Blue metal. After a mile there was a quick movement across the road. It seemed to be a seven foot humanoid. I swerved off the road. My head banged against the steering wheel and another car behind me spun out. I tried my hardest to get my car back on the road to get to the casino. I drove out as fast as possible.I heard the yelling from the man behind me but I ignored it.
It was another 10 minutes before I got to the casino. When i got there it was 20 minutes before i got there. 5:50. I stopped in the parking lot and as I drove by I saw a dark figure squatting on the roof. The casino was only two floors high so it appeared very close and that worried me more than it usually did. Butr as I pulled into the parking lot I saw Greta and Tyrone. I rolled down my window and waved my hand.they waved back.I got out of my car and walked to the entrance where they were waiting. We had a warm greeting with hugs and old high fives. We caught up with each for a little before walking in, Greta explained that her family moved due to a Job applicant my dad received and my mother wanted to apply to Cleveland U to receive her Masters.
Tyrone shared his stories of Going to Penn University and experiences in Philadelphia he shared with one of a friend of his that got inside the liberty bell, he also revealed that he wanted to move back to tumbleville after his final semester. My eyes light with excitement. I thought of all the things I had to show him that he missed. I then asked if Greta had any plans to move back. She explained she wanted to, but she had to move back to Mexico to help her family in Cancun. I told her that it should be more like a vacation. We all chuckled. I then walked in front of them and said “are you ready to enter the casino” in my famous butler voice. They chuckled and went inside. As soon as I walked in the air within the casino it was dead cold. Goosebumps grew all over my body.
I asked Greta and Tyrone if they felt it and they said they hadn't.I shrugged it off and walked to the counter and I asked for the 100 plus token deal. Then I heard a scream it radiated around me there was no sources, it was everywhere i began to scratch at my head. My friends seemed not to hear the scream. I told the cashier to give them the tokens and I explained I had to go to the bathroom and I'd be right back. I walked In and began to pour water in my ear. I hoped it would work but I knew it wouldn't work. But then it stopped, I was grateful. Then the lights in the bathroom cut off i turned around and wondered why the light shut off and thought that maybe someone turned it off while walking out. That's when I felt a bony hand touch my shoulder, I froze. I couldn't move, I was stuck in place, it felt as if a scering hot plate was burning my skin. it lifted and the lights flicked on. I looked towards my shoulder, my shirt had a claw mark on it and I could see my skin.
I bolted out of the bathroom, and saw my friends already playing slot machines. They questioned why I had taken so long, I told them it was a minute, they replied with '`it's been 10 minutes” I stared in shock. Did you not come geet me? We did but you said you were fine. Both of them got back to slot machines while I contemplated what happened. Did they not notice the claw mark on my shirt? Was it even there? I Looked back over and it was gone. We went into our night to play black jack and betted on horse racing. I had forgotten about the bathroom incident as the night overridden the fear. By the time it was 11 an alert blared on our phones it read “National Weather service, Major blizzard will impact the tumbleville area, within the next 5 minutes. white out conditions and a foot of snow expected. This startled us, Me the most. I knew it was January and we usually get snow but not that much snow and unexpectedly. We all looked at each other.
Tyrone Questioned if this began to happen after he left in a joking way, we all laughed. I responded no. We discussed what our next plan would be, it seemed like the people around us were to. We decided it would be a good idea to head home. When we walked to the main doors we were greeted by a wall of snow and the doors completely stopped working, they could be moved. The people around us were visibly angered and confused. I heard one man start cursing angrily at the top of his lungs.Tyrone and Greta Chuckled, but I was visibly concerned. I felt a bit anxiety creeping in.A man presumably the manager came out of an elevator and yelled to the crowd of people wondering what was happening. He said that the snow storm had hit particularly hard outside the casino and there were white out conditions already. People began to voicing thier concerns, most saying they had family or work or something stupid.Behind the Manager I saw a shadow one that didnt look like him it was over arching. It seemed like no one could see it or everyone was too busy to notice. I called it out to my friends and they acknowledged its existions but they didn't seem to care as they needed questions answered. That's when it happened someone yelled the holy grail question, what's happening with food? Everyone froze, the manager exclaiming they would have to wait till the next supply came in and he didn't know if it would be coming. More yelling ensued.
I turned to Tyrone and Greta, they looked like they were kinda scared. I tried to reassure them we’d be fine even though I knew something bad would happen and I felt my anxiety levels rising, my hand developed a bit of a twitch. I concealed as much as possible. That's when it hit me, all night I felt like I was missing something, I had forgotten to take my pills. I panicked, when I forgot to take my pills I began to act crazy. This had caused many problems in the past. Most resulting in someone getting hurt and once someone killed, but we don't talk about it.We stood there thinking of what to do, Greta began to call her family and Tyrone walked in a circle talking to himself. Then the lights went out. All around us were the screams of terrified people, and yelling of peoples names. I started yelling Greta and Tyrons name and I heard them yell back, we tried our best to find each other in the crowd of people.. We all touched arms and latched on to each other, I was leading the pack, We didn't speak, as silence filled the casino floor. We didn't know why everyone just stopped. There were still people around us but they stood still and we couldn't get past them.

I whispered for them to get on the ground to crawl. Greta tugged at my shirt and asked if I could hear the growling. Right as she said it I heard it. A loud growl was coming from somewhere on the floor, Then i heard a slash. It was like whatever was growling was decapitating the heads of the people standing. I told her to stay quiet and that as long as we didn't speak, whatever was there couldn't hear us. As we crawled I saw a light, it was the door of the casino, the snow was reaching the top, but a street lamp outside was still visible and its light poured in. I whisper to Greta and Tyrone that we'd be heading for the door and that we should crawl quickly to beat the snow. They agreed. I knew that the door wouldn't open and that we'd be trapped, I began to sweat, and I felt my heart beating faster and faster. I was almost popping out of my chest. But I kept on crawling. We finally made it to the door, the growling sound still surrounding us. It sounded close every second. The floor near the door got progressively colder, at the door the floor changed, it was still cold, but it felt like dirt ,I looked down, and i saw dirt. I lifted my head and trees surrounded me. I looked back, Greta and Tyrone, they were gone. Then I felt a snowflake resting on my cheek.
I realized this was my Nightmare. I stood and began to walk. I walked for at least 10 minutes, by then the snow was a layer covering the floor. I began to shiver, My heart continued to beat out of control, I trembled, and sweated, I began to feel weak and tired. I stopped and sat down to hopefully regain energy. I looked up at the tree and in them were people from the casino, impaled, embowled, their organs on the floor, bones poking out everywhere. I looked in horror, ordinary people in the trees, dead blood dripping from their bodies. Some had their skin and muscles ripped from their bones. I broke down. I began to cry and I yelled profanities. I must of black out at some point because I can't remember what happened, but when I came too again the snow was at least three inches higher and I was at the light I saw, I felt its heat. Then it vanished.
The cold hit me like a wave. Then I heard a voice. It said to look up, I didn't know if it was real or not but I looked up. I stopped. It felt like the air in my lungs was ripped out and all the energy I had in my body had left in an instance. I dropped to my knees. I screamed and I began to cry again. Then a creature stepped towards me.I heard the ruffling of leaves. Its breath began to warm my neck. Even If it felt good I knew it was a terrible sign and something bad was to happen. Its hand grabbed my shirt. My shirt started to choke me. I looked down and I was at least seven feet above the ground. What ever was grabbing me, tightening up and lifting me to a tree. I got a look at this creature as I was near the tree. All i saw was its glowing red eyes and its bony arm, it was black and thin from what i saw.I felt the poking of a branch of the tree. Then the branch was through my stomach.
The pain was immense and it lasted. The creatures stared into my eyes. I finally got a good look at it. I was eviscerated at every point, bone showing, and a disfigured face. I looked to my left and there was Greta, lumped over, and dead. Her abdomen was gone, the flesh taken off her body. Then I looked to my right, Tyrone lumped over as well. His body had been almost picked clean but his face remained untouched. Then I heard a chuckle from the creature I saw. A disfigured smile shown on its face. I opened its mouth. Hi I'm kind of a loner as the people of the town call me,
I barely leave my apartment, I tend to watch TV all day, and it was friday so I got all Night to watch so flipped on the TV. It was already on CLS I listened in. Local Man Joshua Longhorn Missing along with Greta Huppin and Tyrone Frienson, they went missing after a night at the Fortune 12.

Going to Cancun next week!

Hey guys!
I consider myself a solid reg, I mostly breakeven playing online cash and mtt, I heard from a friend that lives in Mexico that they are some casinos down there so I was thinking trying to get the some money back, but, Ive never played live before, much less in a casino, so I have some questions I hope you can help me with.
Have any of you played in cancun? What kind of games do they offer?
What kind of players have you found?
I am a very nervous and shaky person, my hands shakes even when doing nothing, so I would be very shaky while betting on anything(bluffs, values, and draws). Would this be a disadvantage or could I use it maybe being a little bit maniac at the beginning and then tight up?
Also then to laugh when feeling uncomfortable. How would you take this as a tell?
Should I be wearing glasses + hoddie + headphones? What else should I consider?
I tried to avoid questions that have been answered in previous post (how many chips do you BI, table etiquette, etc) but any advice will be welcome!
PS: English is my second language so bare with me!

Las Vegas isn’t that fun.

I put this in unpopular opinion because so many people disagree.
If you wanna get laid and party hard, go to New Orleans or Cancun. Vegas seems too stuffy.
If you’re looking to gamble, most cities have casinos. Yes there’s Rio and the Venetian and they’re themed but they look fake and most of them look the same and you’re paying a lot of money to stay in such casinos. Save your money and travel somewhere with the real culture.
If you like shows, a lot of the groups tour nationwide.
The one thing Vegas does better than anyone else is sell. The customer service there is so much better than what you’ll get in most cities. But who cares about that?

Scottsdale, AZ - a man haven

Let me begin by saying I have been everywhere for bachelor parties, Vegas, DR, Costa Rica, New Orleans, Prague, Nashville, Miami, Austin, Cancun, the list goes on but I just came back from a 4 day weekend in Scottsdale, AZ and this trip was by far the best bachelor party I have ever been to. I went with 13 guys and there was something for everyone. I should begin by saying that Old Town is where the parties and women are at. Maya, Hefe, bottled blonde, District, Dakota,Dierk Bentley's Whiskey Row etc. By far, the hottest women you have ever seen all live here. This might just be your girls worst nightmare due to the endless temptation. Strip clubs aren't even necessary, walk into any of the bars and clubs in Old Town and these seductive women will lure you in. The bottle girls at all these clubs were coming up to us offering us "extra services". Im sure you can imagine just how unreal the strip clubs were.

A few other great places to check out were the casinos: Talking Stick and Casino Arizona

If you're into golf and women: Platinum Tees is where you wanna be

For food: Bikini Lounge has great food, a pool table and more hot women.

I also must warn you about the weather, its brutually hot. The pool parties didnt help keep us cool either. Unfortunately the pools were over crowded and packed like a can of sardines so I definitely suggest a cabana and avoid the pool of sweaty dudes.

Would highly reccommend!

One week in Yucatan - Review, Tips, Pointers

After reading a bunch of posts here and elsewhere about Yucatan and going on our trip, I wanted to give some feedback to help people's future trips.
Saturday
Flew JetBlue from New York to Cancun because we got a good deal. Flight was delayed a few hours, but we got some travel credits, which was much appreciated. The original plan was to pick up a rental car from Hertz at the airport, but due to the flight delay, they were closed when we arrived. However we reserved the car through AmEx, and they helped move the reservation to pickup the next day. So when we landed, we went straight to the hotel through a cab at the airport. We chose the official partner (maybe SuperShuttle? Forgot to document this). The ride seemed expensive for what it was, but was ultimately fine.
We wanted to stay somewhere easy to get to, efficient, clean, and downtown/not in the hotel district, and chose Suites Malecon Cancun. This was a BIG MISTAKE. When we arrived and went into our room, whoever was there previously had smoked in the bathroom and it smelled horribly. Tried to steam/air it out, but only succeeded a little bit. There were stains on the bedspread and lampshade. The air conditioner was difficult to figure out, and ultimately made the room pretty cold. But all this could have been forgiven if the room had sufficient soundproofing. My guess is that the hotel was built in a hurry, and they did a shoddy job. Even though we were on the 14th floor, with the windows closed, metal window gates closed and A/C running, we could still hear the bars across the street. Even worse, there was some kind of fun run event that started before dawn across the street that featured loudspeakers blasting music to get the runners motivated. We could also hear other guests in their rooms talking and when they dropped things on the floor. It was very frustrating not to get any sleep after the delayed flight.
Sunday
The next annoying hurdle was Hertz. Even though we reserved a car online, they said since we didn't pre-pay, they didn't have to honor the reservation for the car we wanted. All they had available was a Dodge Grand Caravan. It was much bigger than we needed, and ended up costing us more in gas than a regular car would have. But it drove nicely, and the A/C worked well.
The drive to Merida was mostly uneventful. Took the tollway most of the trip, which was fast and had no traffic. Got stopped on the Yucatan/Quintana Roo border by a federale. He let us go through without hassle (queue foreshadowing music). Stayed in Koox Art 64 Boutique Hotel in El Centro. Generally a nice place with very helpful employees and lovely pool. Room had good A/C, huge TV, cute patio, large closet, safe, comfortable/pillows, and ceiling fan. Downsides were that there was no bathroom door, not great soundproofing (birds, neighboring children), no fridge in room, and it seemed relatively easy for bugs to get in. The room was upstairs, and there was a shared kitchen and living room downstairs.
Checked out Merida en Domingo that day, which was really fun. Traditional dancing, tons of vendors and people around. Had a sopa de lima snack from one of the stands, which was kind of weak. Went for lunch to Manjar Blanco. Very tasty. Tried panuchos, papadzules, and relleno negro. Rest of the day was spent walking around, swimming and checking out thing around town.
For dinner, went to Tikin Xic on the north side of town. Food was good, cheap, and the staff was nice. Great botanas and ceviche. The namesake dish was good too. After, checked out the funk/blues jam at Dzalbay. It was decently fun.
I guess it's at this point that I'll also mention something that seems pretty obvious, and it's that Merida is HOT. Even in February, it was 90s during the day. And a lot of places don't have A/C, probably because most people are used to it.
Monday
Lots more walking around and city exploring. Had some breakfast tacos at Taqueria La Lupita. They were excellent. Amazing Cochinita and lechon. So much flavor and fantastic texture.
It's cool that Merida had kind of a heyday in the mid 1800s. Paseo de Montejo has a lot of beautiful, ornate old buildings that look like they should be an embassy or something. Checked out some of the large markets as well, at people's recommendations here. Had a hard time figuring out where the "best" places were. The hawkers were kind of aggressive and I wasn't ready for it. Ending up having some Poc Chuc, which was okay but left me wanting. Walked around some more and had some tepache and ice cream, both of which were fine but nothing special.
Walked around more, swam more to beat the heat and rested at the hotel. Had some fish tacos at El Fabuloso Pez. Nice presentation, though the place seemed pretty corporate/cookie cutter. Got a little bit sick from the food. Went to Golden Island Casino after, which was disappointing, as it was almost entirely video slots.
Took an Uber back to Centro and went to Pipiripau for a drink and it was totally dead. Then went to La Negrita. Bands were playing, people dancing, super fun scene. Had some ceviche, which was uninspiring, but didn't matter. Negrita was great.
Tuesday
Day trip to Uxmal for ruins. Walked around a bunch. Lots of tourists around obviously, but it was cool. Didn't pay for a guide or tour or anything. Just wandered. Saw some lizards get into an intense fight. Left to go to Hacienda Mucuyche for lunch and the cenote. Lunch was fine, nothing special. Had some salbutes, chips, water and other snacks. The cenote was done as part of a tour group. Kind of felt Disney-ified, but was super beautiful. Wish we had longer to swim around. Went to cenote Kankirixche after, which was also pretty, but the opposite experience. Instead of a guided tour and guides and stuff, you just gave the guy $30MX for a little laminated card. Then you give the card to the guy by the cenote and he just lets you do your thing. Very different experiences, both fun.
Got stopped again by federales getting back into Yucatan. They seemed perplexed that I didn't speak Spanish and let me go. Had reservations at Nectar for dinner, but wife got super sick either from lunch or accidentally drinking cenote water or something. Had to cancel the reservation. People at the hotel suggested Uber Eats for delivery, and figured why not. Wanted to see what the burrito was like, and ordered one from La Taque. It came on a paper tray, wrapped in plastic, which was weird, but was very tasty. And huge! No rice either, just meat and cheese wrapped up and grilled a bit.
Wednesday
Woke up for a taco brunch. Walked to Taqueria Yucatan. Good tacos! Great tortillas! Nice service even though they didn't speak any English, and my Spanish is very limited. The chaya con huevos was excellent. Checked out of hotel and drove to Wayan'e for more tacos. Loved the variety and amazing flavors. I'd read about green chorizo but never eaten it before. Really delicious. Didn't love that they charged me for 6 tacos and only gave me 5, and that the prices on the receipt didn't match the menu. But the food was great, so I wasn't complaining.
Started the drive out of Merida to El Cuyo for some beach time. Stopped by Federales, because of course. I booked with Mattias through VRBO, emailed back and forth a few times to confirm details, including within a week of our scheduled arrival, and everything seemed like it was going to be setup for a nice stay.
Got into El Cuyo, located the Hacienda, knocked on the door, and another guest let us in. They told me I should message Mattias or his assistant Magally via WhatsApp for the keys. So I messaged Magally and she told me that there were no rooms available. I sent her a photo of my confirmation, but she was not apologetic and offered no alternatives. VRBO had only one other place in El Cuyo, Cabanas El Cuyo. It was super bare bones. Wood plank room, bad lighting, sub par bed & pillows, no A/C, bad water pressure, luke warm shower. If there were neighbors, I would have heard everything the did. But Reyes, the guy running it, was nice enough. And it was right on the beach, so the breeze was great and the view was incredible.
Unfortunately, Reyes also suggested getting dinner at Loncheria La Lupita. Got some tacos, gringas and salbutes. I say unfortunately, because maybe it wasn't the cleanest place, because I got really sick from the food. Had a rough night.
Thursday
Didn't sleep much that night. Decided that it would be nicer outside than inside and rolled around on a lounger for a few hours. Had some water. Ventured into town for some pancakes at Naia Cafe. Right on cue, more Federales show up. These ones were very interested in me and my passport. Took one of the other diner's passports and didn't seem to give it back. Pancakes were mediocre. Could have used some baking soda. Hung out more on the beach. Weather was mid 80s and beautiful. Maybe only two other people within sight on the beach. Totally chill.
Originally had an idea to get dinner in Tizimin, but after seeing the roads and lack of lighting, changed plans. Got dinner that night at Chile Gordo. It's run by a nice British woman and very cute. Food is central Mexican/Veracruz in style and good. Walked around El Cuyo some more. Kids were preparing for Carnival the next week. Watched them a bit. Star gazed. Had some night beach. Cooled off at night to upper 70s.
Friday
Packed up and left El Cuyo. Drove through Yucatan. Got stopped by Federales once again. This guy kept saying there was something wrong with license plates of the rental van. Wouldn't let us go. He said we had to go to Merida for some kind of inspection and similar nonsense. We said we could not do that. Eventually he asked for a bribe. Being that we had to catch a flight, ended up paying and then leaving. He said be careful.
Filled up the van, took it back to Hertz. Still waiting to see if they charge anything extra for damage that doesn't exist. Flight home was thankfully uneventful other than that the Direct TV/movies didn't work.
So that's about it! Tried to be concise, but got long winded. If you have any questions, I can try to help.

Hate schedules, but feel better when on one?

Back story... go to Cancun for vacation. Breakfast 8am, Trivia 10am, water activity #1 11am, bingo noon, water activity #2 2pm.... you get the idea all the way to dinner at 7 drinks afterwards and show etc etc. I was never happier to be on a schedule than when it was made... for me.
Current day, get up, go to work, come home. Now up until this point everything is fine. I did my work, I had my standard day to day meetings, all of that nonsense.
After work, there is nothing, there is no schedule, I don't want to make my own schedule because it seems like I'm logically telling myself I have to do something, but I hate schedules.
Without one (schedule), I'll be drinking or at the casino in no time.... or just randomly switching focus on 100 different things trying to get myself to just get through the next 6 hours so I can sleep.
Maybe I just hate telling myself what I should do? Does anyone else know this feeling?

Scottsdale Arizona - a man haven

Wishlist: Hitman 3 Locations/Mission Ideas PART 2

Part 1 Here: https://www.reddit.com/HiTMAN/comments/8yntwi/wishlist_hitman_3_locationsmission_ideas_part_1/
Mission Name: Edifice Complex
Synopsis- While in Detroit, another contract is given to the ICA. 47 is sent to a long-abandoned high-rise building that is currently undergoing renovations to be converted into high class lofts and business offices. 47 must eliminate the corrupt Site Inspector, the shady Real Estate Mogul, and the devious, eccentric, panic-attack prone billionaire bankrolling the money laundering and drug trade operation that this building is going to be a part of.
Setting- A high rise office building built in the 1920's and abandoned in 1983. Currently the top 2 floors, including penthouse, have been fully renovated so that primary tenant may take up residency as the rest of the building is finished. The ground floor up to the second floor are undergoing renovation, the fourth floor is being used as temporary equipment and supply storage, the fifth through 29th floors remain in their abandoned, decayed state (though only floors 5, 6, 28 and 29 are accessible- the rest are unable to be accessed by elevator at this time). The roof and helipad are also accessible.
Disguises-
Worker: Various combinations of cargo pants or blue jeans, t-shirts or cut offs, safety glasses, ball caps or hard hats. As most workers for jobs of this nature are independent contractors, it should be easy to fit in without drawing suspicion, just don't get too close to the foreman. Allowed anywhere construction is taking place and can blend in with most tools and equipment.
Leasing Agent: A Leasing Agent is on site to take photos of the finished office space on the 30th and 31st floors. He is allowed anywhere on those floors and those floors alone. Catch him in the lobby or miss your shot to get his disguise.
Client: A potential client of the property, visiting to get a look at some of the office spaces available for rent. Several of these show up in a group, 47 can blend in with them wearing any of his suits.
Maintenance Staff: Has access to all finished floors, but must face pat-down before entering the penthouse suite.
Security Officer: Site security on patrol.
Safety Agent: From the Worker's Safety Coalition, wanders around inspecting safety devices on equipment and observes workers to make sure they're following safety guidelines. Will discover if safety systems have been disabled and re-enable them - you'll want to get rid of him before you set up any accidents. Disguise can be used to tamper with safety devices un-suspiciously.
Squatter: An unauthorized resident of the building, hiding out on one of the abandoned floors. This disguise does not grant you any access but is included for unique challenges.
Items/Weapons-
Rebar - A piece of steel meant for providing support for poured concrete walls and foundation. The sharpened end from where it was cut off a larger piece makes this a lethal melee weapon.
Paint Can - Can be used as a distraction or a non-lethal melee weapon. A worker wouldn't look out of place carrying one.
Sledge Hammer - Lethal two-handed blunt melee weapon.
Nail Gun - If the safety mechanism is defeated, this battery-operated framing tool will launch a construction nail about 50ft through the air. Useful for long-distance distractions. Can be lethal at point blank range.
Shovel, Screw Driver, Hammer, Crow Bar, Propane Tank, Fire Extinguisher, etc - most tools and items make an appearance here.
Challenges
Just Like Jimmy: Push the Mogul into a hole and then cover him up with concrete from the Mixer.
Shish Kabob: Kill the Mogul by causing him to fall onto the protruding Rebar.
Fire in the Hole!: Detonate an explosive inside the Cement Mixer when The Inspector is looking inside.
Nailed: Kill a Target with the Nail Gun.
Hammered: Kill a target with the sledge hammer.
House of Cards: Collapse the scaffolding onto the Inspector.
Inside Man: Induce the Billionaire into a panic attack and kill him while dressed as his body guard.
Fly Swatter: Use the crane to knock down the Billionaire's escape helicopter as he flees.
Eminent Domain: Kill all 3 Targets while disguised as the Squatter.

Mission Name: Bet On Your Life
Synopsis: 47 travels to a world-famous high roller Casino Hotel in China to eliminate 3 key members of an international human trafficking ring and disrupt operations permanently. One of the targets is the Casino Owner himself. The other two key members are visiting the Casino to conduct business, but will certainly be partaking in their fair share of pleasure as well.
Targets: Bao Jiang, owner of the Jiang Dynasty Casino and one of the 3 pillars of the international trafficking ring, an extremely professional and paranoid man who surrounds himself with a well trained security staff at all times. Keith Morrow, operating out of Detroit, Michigan, United States - a compulsive gambler with a penchant for fits of rage when faced with a loss, even of the minor sort. Angel Lopez, operating out of Cancun and heavily into gambling on illegitimate fighting competitions which are usually fixed in his favor.
Key Opportunities: Angel Lopez- An illegitimate street-fight will be taking place in one of the sub levels of the Casino and Angel will be sure to be putting a large sum of money on a particular fighter - but 47 uncovers information which suggests that Angel plans on rigging the fight, as he has apparently done many times in the past, by doping the opponent. 47 can intercept the drug and instead dope the fighter that Angel has bet on, causing Angel to lose his money. 47 can also steal the payment briefcase that was taken as collateral (in order to be allowed to bet) with a similar case full of forged bills, so when the fight runner goes to count Angel's bet and sees the money is gone, he'll no doubt have Angel disposed of on account of fraud.
Keith Morrow- 47 learns that the ill-tempered Keith Morrow will be sticking to his favorite game - Texas Hold 'Em. While Keith is a skilled Poker player, he's no match for Agent 47's ability to count cards. 47 can disguise himself as one of the other players in the Poker game and give Keith a literal run for his money. When Keith loses the game, he will become so angry that he will decide to personally murder 47 to get his money back. 47 can use this opportunity to lure Keith into his own demise.
Bao Jiang- Not much will get Bao to leave his well secured office penthouse - not even a building evacuation. Bao has several plans in place in the event of an evacuation - his safe room, in the event of a hostile attack, his escape helicopter, or the express elevator to the basement parking garage. 47 can sabotage one of these 3 escape plans and then trigger an evacuation (fire alarm, shooting, etc) to determine which route Bao will take. He drop a radio/satellite antenna (by shooting the mount) onto the helicopter as it prepares to take off (nod to Max Payne), defeat the safety brake system on the elevator and break the cable as it descends, or put a bomb in the armored vehicle.
Expose the Operation- Although the 3 key players in the trafficking ring will be dead, the operation needs to be exposed to the world so that federal law enforcement agencies and sweep up what remains. This may seem at odds with the notion of covertly eliminating these 3 men, but it's an unwritten agreement that when the ICA gets involved in matters such as these, federal agencies tend to look past the details of their deaths. 47 will need to enter the highly secured server room and install an ICA provided WiFi uplink to connect Jiang's secure server to the internet and trigger a mass upload of its contents. Once the data is out there on the internet, it will be there for forever.
Killing all 3- Exposing the Operation will send the targets into a panic situation. They will likely attempt to meet and figure out a plan, but Jiang's paranoia will cause him to distrust the other two and the meeting will surely be highly volatile. 47 can push Jiang over the edge by planting evidence on Angel and Keith, causing Jiang to other them both to be killed. Of course, Keith and Angel's personal body guards will return fire. If 47 is in the right place at the right time, as the bullets are flying, he can deliver a fatal dose of lead to Jiang himself and slip out undetected in the chaos- otherwise he will still have to eliminate Jiang via one of his escape routes.
Of course, all 3 targets can be eliminated using more traditional methods, but, especially in the case of Bao Jiang, it may not be as easy to get them alone as other targets have been in the past.
Mission-Specific Items: ICA Uplink - This device, when plugged into any computer, will establish a connection to the nearest WiFi network and bypass any security. This is intended to bring offline systems online, giving the ICA- or anyone else, for that matter- access to data stored on closed-networks. Poker Invitation - Not just anybody can sit down at a high stakes poker table. You need an invitation, and that’s something that can only be obtained through a large down-payment (or by taking it off someone who has one). You don't* need to take their disguise as well, but you can if you want to. Penthouse Keycard - Unlocks doors on the penthouse level. Room 1301 Keycard - Allows access to 47’s reserved room on the 13th floor. 1st, 2nd, 11th, 12, and 13th floor Keycards -Allows access to all doors on their respective floors. Maintenance Keycard - Unlocks all doors in the sub levels, all elevators, all maintenance areas on accessible floors, and rooftop access. Portable Defibrillator - Carried by Casino Medical Staff. Can start-or stop a human heart. 2-Way Rad*io - Carried by most Casino staff.
Disguises - Jiang’s Special Security - Unlimited Access to entire Casino and Hotel, but all other Special Security will not be fooled by this disguise - nor will Jiang.* Casino Security - Mostly unlimited access to entire building, with the exception of the Penthouse and sub levels. Maintenance Staff - Allows access to sub levels and maintenance areas as well as all public spaces. Bellhop - Allows access to all public spaces and restricted areas of the casino area. Room Service - Allows access to all public spaces, restricted areas of the casino area, and all guest rooms on all floors - except the penthouse level. Poker Player, - Wears an old fashioned translucent poker visor, polo shirt and khaki pants. Access to all public spaces and room 1337 only. May blend in at any game or table until asked to leave (for not playing). Fight Referee, - Access to sub level fight arena area only. Referees are non-partial parties paid to fly in from various places, so nobody should be familiar with his appearance. Allowed into the locker room pre-fight to inspect fighters lockers. Janitor - Allowed anywhere on the property, but limited access to restricted areas, such as the sub levels or penthouse - must be called up via radio to fix a problem and be allowed access. Casino Enforcer - Jiang's junkyard dogs assigned to extract payment (or sacrifice) from delinquent gamblers. Casino Fire Crew - The Casino has its own fire crew to respond to fires while waiting for the fire department to arrive. Stealing a fire crew disguise and then causing a small fire might allow an opportunity to get behind the scenes. Casino Medic - The Casino has its own medical staff to treat injuries or medical emergencies while EMT's are en route. Agnolo D’Alvade - A VIP of the hotel and close personal friend of Bao Jiang. Allowed unlimited access to the entire building. Just don't get too close to Jiang or his Special Security Team, or other key members of Casino staff. Sheikh Zanzib*ar - A frequent high roller VIP guest of the Casino given Lower Penthouse Accomodations (Penthouse level just below the top Penthouse/Jiang's Penthouse). Has a master key for all floors except the top Penthouse and sub levels.
Assassination Opportunities Fight and Flight - Rig the fight so Angel Lopez loses his bet, and swap his bet money with counterfeit bills to put him in the crosshairs of Casino enforcers. Kill him as he flees or let the enforcers do your dirty work. A Long Drop and a Sudden Stop* - Arrange events so that Bao Jiang attempts to escape via Express Elevator, and cause the Elevator to crash down.* Texas Fold 'Em - Beat Keith Morrow at the Poker Match and lure him into seclusion, then kill him. Payneful Turbulence - Cause Jiang's escape chopper to crash. Shock to the Heart - Sedate Keith Morrow and respond as Medical Crew to kill him with the Defibrillator. Fire! - Start a fire to trigger the automated evacuation and kill Jiang as he flees. Unsafe Ro*om - Trigger a lockdown and kill Jiang inside his safe room.

Mission Name: Enemies Within
Note: I'm not a Hitman Lore expert so please forgive any inaccuracies.
Without knowing how the Providence story line will shake out, let's just say it happens that Soders wasn't the only person within the ICA who was on Providence's payroll, and over time it becomes apparent to Diana that there are sleepers still working within the ICA, laying low since Soders' death and apparently waiting for the right opportunity to resume operations.
This will turn out to be 47's most difficult mission yet, as not only is he tasked with infiltrating a highly secured building full of people that know what he looks like, but one that also contains a number of expert agents who not only know Agent 47's common methods, but are specifically trained in them.
47 has 6 targets to eliminate among the various divisions of the ICA HQ.
Soders' Former Assistant- Not trained in field work in any way but has a dangerous amount of knowledge regarding 47's operations. While Soders was out on medical leave, the Assistant has been at the helm handling Soders' official ICA dealings, as well as his secret, illegitimate involvement with Providence. Since Soders' death, his Assistant has been at work secretly covering his own tracks, attempting to clear himself of any connection to Providence at all.
Head of ICA Research & Development- With Soders on their Payroll, Providence has been making use of the ICA's extremely advanced R&D department to provide special equipment to key players across the glove. Under the table, of course. The Head of the R&D department is willfully complicit, and she must be eliminated.
Field Operative Trainer- Among the wide ranging efforts of Providence to utilize the ICA for their own nefarious deeds, the Agent who trains new ICA Operatives is a direct plant of Providence, replacing the former trainer after a freak accident left him physically disabled. The new Field Operative Trainer has been tasked specifically with training the new operatives to subvert the methods used by the ICA's top operative - Agent 47, since Agent 47 is a wildcard that Providence is unable to compromise. The new operatives are being trained, ultimately, to beat 47 at his own game, and take him out of the picture once and for all.
ICA Trainee 1- See Below
ICA Trainee 2- Top level recruits being trained in the methods of Agent 47 with the ultimate goal of defeating him. Defeating this recruit will be difficult, as they will be more aware of 47's movements and traps. It would be wise to target the Trainees first and foremost, because even if 47 is able to eliminate the other targets in accidents, these Trainees will surely pick up on the strange circumstances of multiple accidental deaths within a short time span.
Gamma Agent- The Gamma Agent is the ICA's top agent under 47, who has been trained and groomed to know 47's methods inside and out. Defeating her will be 47's greatest challenge of his career, as she will not only be wary of disguises, traps, or outright assaults - but will be actively utilizing these same methods to eliminate 47. 47 will need to be careful not to find himself falling victim to his very own methods, and will need to watch out for suspicious behaviors, objects that appear out of place, suspiciously vacant areas, hidden, unclothed bodies, and other telltale signs that an Agent utilizing 47's own tricks of the trade is possibly nearby.
Unique Items The Research and Development Division will have a number of experimental gadgets and items that 47 may find useful. Note: These items can be unlocked through mastery of this final mission. The idea behind these particularly crazy items being unlocked in the FINAL mission is to not break the entire game prior to this mission, but to allow players to have fun screwing around and experimenting with these items after they've beaten the game.
Hallucinogenic Poison- In Syringe and Vial form, this Hallucinogenic Drug is the same experimental drug used by Ezra Berg. Neither he nor the ICA were able to get the formula down perfectly, however the most recent sample in possession of the R&D department has shown the most consistent results. Research notes suggest that the subject's initial mental state tends to play the biggest role regarding what effect the drug has on them. A calm person may simply be put into a relatively sedate condition, becoming less aware of their surroundings. A paranoid person may see their fears become manifested in the form of hallucinations, an aggressive person may become unpredictably volatile (security guards may attack people nearby, regular civilians will just become lethargic, certain key characters will have unique responses)
Remote EMP Device- A small yet highly conspicuous disposable EMP device activated via remote. Although useful in certain situations, the overall effectiveness of this device was not seen as important enough to warrant mass production. This device can be used to discreetly disrupt any electronics within a 10ft radius. This can be used as a distraction, to erase hard drives, shut down cameras, and more.
"EMP" Rubber Duck- A blue rubber ducky originally designed as a discreet EMP device, but faulty design has barred it from authorization for field use. The requirement of a high powered battery yielded many obstacles in its design and ultimately resulted in this failure of a device which, despite its supposedly water-proof housing, became a lethal electrocution device whenever it came into contact with water due to the rapidly overheating battery burning through the rubber housing within seconds of being activated. May be useful for other purposes, however.
ICA Smart Rifle- Deemed unsuitable for field use despite being an overall well-functioning device, this Smart Rifle is designed to be fired remotely. The Rifle is build into a fairly bulky case that. The case transforms into a mount/stand for the rifle. When the Rifle is armed, it awaits a signal from the Transmitter - a small, button-sized device upon which the Rifle will focus automatically. The user would plant the Transmitter onto a target - for example, on a human, the transmitter would be stuck to their back between their shoulder blades - and when the LED on the remote turns green, the rifle has acquired a direct line of sight to the target, and may be fired. The Smart Rifle was ultimately deemed impractical and unsuitable for field use due to the cost of production outweighing its overall usefulness - a manually fired sniper rifle would be just as effective, without requiring the shooter to return and take down the rifle after the shot has been fired. The Transmitter is discreet enough that it can be discreetly placed on a target even in the middle of a crowd. 47 will gently place his hand on the target's back as if accidentally bumping into them.
ICA Remote Explosive Decoy Gun- A dummy pistol modeled after the Bartoli 75R. Except under extreme scrutiny, appears to be an ordinary pistol, but in reality there is an integrated explosive charge that can be activated remotely or by pulling the trigger. This device was deemed unfit for field usage after a number of reported incidents involving Agents getting it mixed up with the real Bartoli 75R service weapon. This could be used similarly to the remote explosive duck, or in certain cases, by swapping an individual's own sidearm with the decoy and allowing them to blow themselves up.
Opportunities
The Assistant- Sabotage with Hallucinogenic Poison and he will succumb to his paranoia and commit suicide by jumping from the window.
Swap Soder's "desk gun" with the Explosive Decoy Gun and watch him blow himself up when he attempts to shoot 47.
The R&D Head- Plant a transmitter on her, then activate the 3 dormant Smart Rifles on display in her office, and place a call to the phone on her desk.
Use the EMP device to wipe her security badge data when she enters the armory. When the system recognizes a human occupant with no badge, it will trigger the automatic lock down protocol and release non-lethal knock-out gas, which of course you've already sabotaged by switching the feed line to nearby propane tanks, which will inevitably cause a massive deadly fireball when she fires her pistol trying to shoot out the glass to escape the room.
(will have to work on some ideas for the other targets)
Bonus Mission...
Mission Name: House of the Devil
House of the Devil is an amalgamation of the Blood Money levels A House of Cards and Dance with the Devil, intended as a standalone bonus/DLC mission.
Map Design - The Shamal Hotel featured in A House of Cards will be the main structure of the map, but will now also include the parking garage, sub-basement, and top floor penthouse as seen in the Shark Club building in* A Dance with the Devi*l.
The front entrance to The Shamal will remain mostly the same, albeit with the modern Hitman flair - more NPC's, more details, more freedom. It will be expanded and redesigned to look more elegant and classy.
Around the side of the building is the entrance to the parking garage. This will look similar to the parking garage entrance in the Blood Money version, and the layout will be mostly the same, however the first floor lobby and security desk will not be included.
The sub-basement features the Hell party, a masquerade type party with a demonic theme. The penthouse suite on the top floor features the Heaven party.
The main floor of the building features a casino and a middle-eastern themed restaurant, just as its Blood Money counterpart did, except the casino is on the same level as the lobby instead of down a flight of stairs.
the sub-basement, parking garage, lobby, floor 7, floor 8, and the penthouse are all accessible via elevator.
The Story - There are 5 targets in this mission. Anthony Martinez, Vaana Ketlyn, Henrik Schmutz, The Sheikh, and Tariq Abdul Lateef.
Schmutz was a former Ether employee and stole vital DNA samples and research. He intends to sell this research to Ether's number one competitor - APEX International.
APEX's CEO, The Sheikh, will be arriving in person to field the purchase of Schmutz's stolen DNA samples and research.
The Sheikh's head scientist, Tariq Abdul Lateef, will also be present to inspect the samples and research prior to handing over the payment.
The three are expected to meet at some point this evening at the Shamal Hotel, but there is a complication.
Anthony Martinez, a corrupt CIA agent working multiple angles for his own financial gain, is attending a masquerade party at the Shamal as cover - he plans to hijack the DNA research, and well as the payment, and sell it on the international black market.
In order to accomplish this, he has enlisted the help of Vaana Ketlyn, a major player in global black trade, who will help him fence the research in exchange for half The Sheikh's intended payment. The two have a history together of mixing business with pleasure.
Our client is a third party who wants the DNA research recovered and destroyed before it falls into the wrong hands. What you do with The Sheikh's payment is entirely up to you. The client also wants The Shiekh, Lateef and Schmutz eliminated, which will deliver a major blow to unethical DNA
The Mission - Apart from the inclusion of two extra characters and a number of new opportunities, the House of Cards portion of the mission will play out largely the same. The Sheikh, Schmutz and Lateef will play out very similar routines, with a few modifications to fit with the updated game play of the new title. Martinez will at some meet with Ketlyn in the sub-basement to discuss plans on how to acquire the research and money.
Opportunities
The Jaws of Defeat - Vaana Ketlyn has spared no expense with her Heaven and Hell themed raves, but the real spectacle is the live shark swimming around in the water tanks surrounding the dance floor in the sub-basement. As a former world-renowned circus performer, it wouldn't be out of the ordinary for Ketlyn to perform a death-defying stunt. Perhaps there is an opportunity to up the stakes? - Vaana will perform a stunt routine involving the Shark. Rig the safety equipment to cause her to fall into the shark tank and be devoured. Her opioid-impaired party goers may very well think it's all part of the show.
A Dance with the Devil - Anthony Martinez and Vaana Ketlyn have a decade-long history of business relationships, with plenty of pleasure mixed in. Apparently, it has been two years since they last saw each other in person, and judging by their recent phone calls, their reunion may be an emotional moment. Nevertheless, they are both professionals and will likely focus on the job at hand... unless they can be persuaded. Catching them in the moment might be a good opportunity to eliminate them both at once. Spike Martinez's drink with an aphrodisiac, and send flowers to Ketlyn. During their meeting, set the sound system to play a slow romantic song. They will issue security staff to clear the dance floor for a private dance. Dispose of them in any way you see fit (dropping the lighting rig is one option).
Poor Reception - The Sheikh has been complaining that his phone calls are being dropped due to poor reception inside the building, and that he is tired of walking outside to take calls. This may be a chance to get him right where you want him.Acquire and use Lateef's cell phone to call The Sheikh, and kill him when he goes outside to take the call. You can carry the cell phone with you and call him from anywhere, but if you prefer remaining true to the original, you can snipe him from Lateef's hotel room.
Room Service - Lateef will need to thoroughly examine the DNA samples and research that Schmutz plans to sell to The Sheikh, but since The Sheikh insists that he and Lateef are not seen together, Schmutz will visit Lateef in Lateef's hotel room with the briefcase, but they apparently have never met and do not know what each other looks like. Posing as Room Service may give you an opportunity to slip into the room ahead of their meeting and prepare for Schmutz's arrival. Getting a Room Service disguise and an 8th floor Master Keycard will grant you access to Lateef's room. Lateef will insist that he did not call for room service, but 47 will make up some excuse about expired dairy product in the mini-fridge and needing to check the expiration dates. From there, you can either distract Lateef so you can hide in the room, or kill him and take his disguise. Eventually, Schmutz will show up and you can either examine the briefcase and let him go, examine the briefcase and discreetly plant a remote bomb and then let him go, examine the briefcase, stand up and kill him right there, or jump him the moment he walks in the door.. among any other number of things.
No Deal - The Sheikh is not a trusting man, and does not completely buy into Schmutz's claim that he has betrayed Ether by stealing the DNA research. As far as corporate espionage goes, this would be a deadly game for Schmutz to play, were he to double-cross The Sheikh. Schmutz has every intention on following through with the deal - his loyalty is to the highest bidder, and nobody will bid higher than The Sheikh. But, sabotaging the DNA samples and research and allowing the meeting to go through will no doubt cause The Sheikh to have Schmutz eliminated. Sneak into Schmutz's room, ruin the DNA samples (poison) and then allow Schmutz to meet with Lateef. Lateef will appear surprised that the samples are no good, but will pretend like everything is ok. When Schmutz leaves the room, Lateef will call The Sheikh and inform him that Schmutz is lying. The Sheikh will have his guards intercept Schmutz and lead him to an outside area to kill him. You can; kill Lateef after he calls The Sheikh, kill The Sheikh before he walks back inside after taking the phone call (only possible with a sniper rifle), and allow The Sheikh's men to kill Schmutz.

Some more S2 Mission Ideas

EDIT: If you’re gonna downvote, have the balls to leave a comment saying why. I put a lot of thought into this.
I'll start with one but I have a bunch more concepts I'll add later.
Bet on Your Life Synopsis: 47 travels to a world-famous high roller Casino Hotel in China to eliminate 3 key members of an international human trafficking ring and disrupt operations permanently.
You don't need to take their disguise as well, but you can if you want to. 2-Way Radio - Carried by most Casino staff.
Disguises - Jiang’s Special Security - Unlimited Access to entire Casino and Hotel, but all other Special Security will not be fooled by this disguise - nor will Jiang. Casino Security - Mostly unlimited access to entire building, with the exception of the Penthouse and sub levels. Sheikh Zanzibar - A frequent high roller VIP guest of the Casino given Lower Penthouse Accomodations (Penthouse level just below the top Penthouse/Jiang's Penthouse).
A Long Drop and a Sudden Stop* - Arrange events so that Bao Jiang attempts to escape via Express Elevator, and cause the Elevator to crash down. Texas Fold 'Em - Beat Keith Morrow at the Poker Match and lure him into seclusion, then kill him. Unsafe Room - Trigger a lockdown and kill Jiang inside his safe room.
More to come!

Midwest couple lost in the Caribbean. First time travelers searching for a honeymoon resort. Input would be much appreciated!

Hello travel !
My wife and I have been scouring our available resources to understand beach vacations. We weren't sure if we were going to road trip the US, go warm, or head to the mountains, but after looking into it we want to kick our feet up and have some well prepared meals instead of filling up on Mac Dons on the way to the next national park.
We are traveling March 23rd to April 2nd of 2018. Our budget is around $3,500 USD, give or take a couple hundred because we have quite a few credit card miles saved up for plane tickets. Also, we are willing to sacrifice a night or two to get into a better resort.
Initially, I was leaning toward something like the Maldives or Tahiti. Pretty ideal for what we wanted in a honeymoon. Except the fact that its on the other side of the world, 24 hour flight, and over $2000/ticket/person.
So I dug into this subreddit to find 'Maldives like' resorts in the Caribbean, but it seams that hurricanes make sure that's not a possibility. Unless you're paying upwards of $1500/night.
Like I stated; we are from the upper MidWest USA. Early 20's. We're fairly active people. Given our age, we none of our friends have embarked on this adventure to reference from or get direct suggestions.
What we're looking for in a resort:
-All-inclusive including alcohol: we would just like to not worry about how much every drink or meal costs while were there albeit the al a cart restaurants that we would like to partake in.
-Privacy/intimate: preferably adults only and not hotel/casino/club party vibe like Cancun or Puerto Villarda. It's a honeymoon after all. We want to relax and be able to enjoy each other's company without having screaming kids at the pool. Really liked the over-water bungalow vibe in the south pacific, or even beach villa, but I realize that isn't within our budget in the Caribbean.
-Younger crowd: we've been told to avoid resorts like Sandals because it attracts older couples. We are not really party goers, but we would like to be entertained in the after-dinner hours and maybe befriend some other couples on our vacation.
-Beach: I have looked into some resorts along the west and east coast of Mexico/central America (--talking like Bocos del Toro area) and they don't always have the nicest sand/water even compared to most Caribbean Islands. We started our search at the Maldives so our expectations are a little high I guess, but what ever is realistically nice.
-Activities and Amenities: we have never been on a beach vacation, but I have been on a cruise and I just want plenty of things to keep us entertained throughout the day. Excursions, fishing, surfing, paddle boarding, golfing, volleyball, pool (swim up bar? :), hot tub, spa, and snorkeling come to mind.
-American Cuisine: I will try just about anything and love seafood, but my wife is a fairly picky eater so we need to make sure the resort is developed enough to offer typical menu options.
-Service: Last summer I took an Alaskan cruise on Royal Caribbean and the service was pretty top notch; so my expectations are set pretty high. As far as i can see on reviews, high level of service seems to be a common theme, so I'm not too anxious, but I will take into account multiple bad experiences or poor facilities.
I have looked into a lot of options. A good number of the ones that fit the bill are just out of reach or, on the other side, well with in the budget but are just a bland, middle of the road, resort and casino for the fat american to get there beach on for a week. Jade Mountain on St. Lucia looks incredible, but alas I digress.
Realistically; -Couples - Tower Isle, Jamaica looks like a good fit. -Jamaica Jewel Resort possibly? -Anyone have any input on the Excellence resorts? We also have a Costco membership so we could book anything through costcotravel.com within budget.
Looking for references on resorts that fit the bill! Toss suggestions out! or give an uneducated good ole Midwestern boy a lesson or two about what to expect when vacationing in the Caribbean get a lost couple into a kick-ass honeymoon!

Mobile gambling expected to take off in Mexico

At least in theory, land-based casinos and their online counterparts can coexist and run their businesses in perfect harmony. In practice, where the brick-and-mortar casinos thrive, the online industry is less competitive and the United States is the best example. A few miles south, in Mexico, the online gambling laws and regulations can be improved and there are good reasons to expect this to happen rather soon. Sky Vegas Casino is among the operators willing to take a leap of faith with Mexico, because if they succeed they can tap into its immense potential. There are not many casinos operating in traditional venues and except for touristic areas such as Cancun, the number of clients is not impressive. Add to this the fact that the power struggle between numerous drug cartels is still a major problem in Mexico and you have a good reason for why online gambling can gain a lot of traction. While land-based casinos struggle to attract customers, Mexico looks like an excellent location to set up the headquarters for an online gambling operator. The locals fancy the idea of playing their favorite games from the comfort of their home and now that the mobile revolution is in full swing, their numbers should be soaring. The government is equally interested in promoting any commercial activities that can generate significant profits and online gambling is a shining example. Some changes need to be made to the aging Law on Games of Chance that is almost 17 years old and the legislators are willing to make amends. Sky Vegas Casino and other operators are waiting for the regulators to make these changes before setting up a more permanent position in Mexico. Some software provider such as Greenplay.mx are already very active here and since their business is thriving, it is only fair to assume that other companies will follow suit. The number of Mexicans who own smartphones is also on the rise and this presents a unique opportunity for companies willing to invest in this growing niche. The convenience of playing casino games from mobile devices is unmatched and the young population is particularly interested in this booming technology. Nobody can afford to be late to the party and this includes online gambling operators, who are simply waiting for the legislators to create the legal framework.

Win a fabulous VIP trip for two to Mexico with Mr Green Casino

How would you like to take a short vacation to Mexico and spend some quality time under the hot sun in the Yucatán Peninsula. This is the proposition that Mr Green Casino makes all its customers who have a real money account, as well as those who are ready to join them this month. There are plenty of things to do and a lot of beautiful sites to discover, so if you find the prospect of taking a break from cold weather and make the transition from spring to summer ahead of anyone else exciting, tag along. Cancun awaits you with its beautiful beaches, friendly natives and amazing resorts and Mr Green Casino is ready to pay this trip. Everything will be taken care of and in order to secure a place on board of the next play, you should focus on the Spinata Grande slot machine. Not surprisingly, this game is inspired by Mexican culture and winners will be decided among those who play a minimum of 20 spins while wagering at least $.20 on every spin. Basically, for every such sequence of 20 spins, Mr Green Casino members will be awarded an entry that will count towards the next raffle. The more entries, the better the chances to win the prize, so highrollers and those who are very perseverant have a better chance of triumphing. There is also a limit of 50 tickets per day, which is actually good news because even beginners stand a chance and they won't be overwhelmed by their peers with access to significant resources. This promotion will crown its winners on Wednesday, April 8, so time is of the essence and it would be quite a shame to miss out on this rare chance. Having an all paid vacation to one of the most luxurious summer resorts is definitely an exciting prospect and anyone can make the transition from dream to reality. Customers should refrain from opening multiple accounts as all those who try to abuse the terms and conditions of this promotion, will be promptly excluded. The lucky winner will receive a travel voucher worth €5000 and this is valid until the end of August 2015, so he or she gets to pick the date of the trip. Only those who are about 18 years old can participate and the winners can't exchange they travel voucher for cash.

Poker in Cancun?

Anyone have any experience with poker in Cancun? TripAdvisor's main recommendation is the Dubai Palace Casino but the reviews have been contradictory on whether or not there are active hold 'em games there. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Anyone have experience with the casinos in Cancun?

Traveling to Cancun in a few days and I just started looking into playing some poker down there when the sun goes down.
Apparently the laws have recently changed and casinos are all very new. Details are sparse but it appears that two of the three casinos do not have live games of any kind and the third requires a modest membership fee to access of poker room of all of three tables. I guess this is definitely not Vegas.
It is a long shot but does anyone have experience with the casinos in Cancun?

[FIGHT PREVIEWS] Timothy Bradley vs Manny Pacquiao, Gilberto Ramirez Sanchez vs Giovanni Lorenzo, Anthony Mundine vs Joshua Clottey, Frank Buglioni vs Sergey Khomitsky + more

Wednesday April 9

From Entertainment Centre, Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia
TV: Main Event (Australia) Sky Arena (New Zealand)
Fight Thread: No

Anthony Mundine 46(27)-5 vs Joshua Clottey 37(22)-4

12 rounds
middleweight division
I’ve always liked Joshua Clottey. His performance against Pacquiao was such that it rewrote his history. He became known as the Ghanian Everlast punching bag. It’s not like he didn’t earn it, but it’s a bit disappointing. He was disqualified early in his career in a fight he was clearly winning for his first career loss. The next loss was against Antonio Margarito. I don’t see a planet where that Margarito would ever lose to a fighter like Clottey. Clottey has always been a shell fighter who emerges with hard counter shots. Margarito was free to rack up points all night long. His next loss came 3 years later after beating Diego Corrales and Zab Judah. His loss to Cotto was controversial and I’m gonna admit to you all that I thought Clottey won. I love Cotto, but the harder punches in that fight came from the Grandmaster. Clottey has since trekked up to middleweight and he faces Anthony Mundine. Mundine has a split decision over Geale as the best win of his career. I’m not counting his stoppage of Shane Mosley last year. Mosley has always had back problems (if you watch the first De La Hoya fight, he tells his dad in the corner about it.) I think given Mosley is a couple years from social security, it’s forgivable
All that said, I’m going to take Clottey. His experience with some of the best welterweights of this past decade should prepare him to beat 38 year old Mundine.

The only reason this is here is because he’s next in line to face Floyd Mayweather. Wait, just kidding. Earlier this week there was a thread asking for the most padded records in the game. I think Singwancha has thrown his hat into the mix.

Mercito Gesta 26(14)-1-1 Edgar Riovalle 37(26)-17-2

8 rounds
lightweight division
What happened to you Mercito? You were contending for knockouts of the year on Friday Night Fights and you fought on the Pacquiao-Marquez IV undercard for the lightweight championship… and now you’re fighting an 8 rounder in some dirt field under Schaefer’s banner. You were seen as a potential candidate to be the next Filipino sensation given the knockouts you were scoring…
The Vazquez fight proved a couple of things. One, don’t question Gesta’s heart. The guy went out and never stopped trying to knock Vazquez out. That can be completely frustrating when fighting a master like Vazquez. Especially when you’re falling asleep. The other thing Gesta proved was that he’s a bit of a gunner. Gesta looked crude against Vazquez. He looked like a knockout was the only way he could beat a guy who had adept boxing skill. Gesta needs to improve that to make the next step in his career and at 26 there’s still time. I’m not sure who’s training him, but I’m not counting this kid out. With the right training, I think Gesta could turn into a force at lightweight. Riovalle is a tough opponent. In fact, this will be a good barometer for where Gesta is.

Gilberto Ramirez Sanchez 27(21)-0 vs Giovanni Lorenzo 33(25)-6

10 rounds
super middleweight division
All you guys out there that like to find out and watch the next wave of prospects, tune in. Seriously. Sanchez is 22 years old, he’s tall, he’s a southpaw, he’s just about everything you want to see in a Mexican prospect. He goes to the body, he’s aggressive, but the key to Sanchez is he’s also smart. He can move, he uses his jab to keep his opponents at a safe range, he throws in combination, and he’s got some pop. He’s still got some flaws, his defense is a bit frantic, but wait till you see his right hook. This could be Gilberto’s coming out party. He’s got a marketable look, too. His opponent is no Andre Ward, but let me tell you this: He’s gonna test Ramirez. This guy has been in with a ton of experienced guys. He took Sam Soliman, Hassan N’Dam N’Jikam, Felix Sturm, and Sebastian Sylvester the distance. Only Danny Jacobs has stopped him and it’s not like Jacobs doesn’t hit hard. I’m excited about this match. A future fight between Chavez Jr and Gilberto Ramirez would be bananas in Mexico. All he’s gotta do is keep on winning.

Jesse Hart 12(10)-0 vs Samuel Clarkson 10(6)-2

8 rounds
super middleweight division
Jesse Hart is a Philly fighter with an amateur pedigree. I like what I’ve seen from him. He’s got power and he’s not afraid to open up. I think this is supposed to be a showcase fight for Hart. Clarkson doesn’t have the strongest chin so look for Hart to stop the kid.

Haskell Rhodes 19(9)-0 vs Alejandro Rodriguez 21(12)-13-1

8 rounds
lightweight division

Egor Mekhontsev 2(2)-0 vs Dwayne Williams 5(2)-1

6 rounds
light heavyweight division
The Olympic gold medalist from the 2012 London Games returns to action. Mekhontsev looked spectacular in his fight on the Shiming undercard in February, but his opponent also looked like a guy this picked out waiting in line at the grocery store. Top Rank has high hopes for Mekhontsev, but the light heavyweight division may not have much room for him. I hope ESPN shows this fight.

EBU-EU light heavyweight title
There’s no room for you guys in the light heavyweight division. Sorry.

David Price 16(14)-2 vs Ondrej Pala 33(23)-4

8 rounds
heavyweight division
Remember when Price was seen as the heir to the Klitschko throne. That he would be the guy to finally knock out Dr Steelhammer? Then Tony Thompson came and pissed all over it… That was a good lesson in how size and power severely overrate and blind people to the real inadequacies and shortcomings of fighters. Price is on the rebuild here his faces a guy who didn’t look too bad last year against Dereck Chisora. That is until the bizarre finish/stoppage. The way I feel about Price is similar to the way I feel about watching Steve Nash play basketball. I love the guy and want to see him do great, but I know how injury prone he is. Every move he makes, every corner he turns, every jump makes me cringe at the potential of him tweaking or aggravating something. It’s nerve racking. I wouldn’t be surprised here is Price doesn’t fair too well. His last fight was over in a minute and was not long enough to show that price has learned anything since getting stopped twice by old man Thompson. This should be interesting as long as it lasts.

Andy Lee 31(22)-2 vs Frank Haroche Horta 34(13)-12-5

Who the hell is promoting Andy Lee these days and why didn’t we get Lee-Macklin over St Patricks day weekend? It’s unfair. I’ve always liked Lee. Emmanuel Steward saw something special in him and that’s enough for me to believe in him. Lee has the distinction of dropping Brian Vera in both of his fights with him, which diet heavyweight Julio Cesar Chavez Jr failed to do in 2 fights with him. Lee also lost to Chavez Jr… but let’s leave the past in the past. Lee looked fantastic his last time out. He’s only 29 and I think could make a real run at the middleweight title.

Charr was stopped by Vitali Klitschko, but other than that has been a good fighter. He’s fought mostly in Germany and I don’t know if I’m happy or not that this isn’t on TV. Kevin Johnson makes for real unwatchable, unappetizing, unappealing fights. Please look up his stinker with Dereck Chisora last year. Please, do it for me.

Frank Buglioni 12(9)-0 vs Sergey Khomitsky 28(11)-10-2

10 rounds
super middleweight division
Leave it to Frank Warren to put on a card the same day as an American pay-per-view. Let’s stay on topic. I like Buglioni a lot. He doesn’t have one-punch power, but he puts his punches together nicely and takes his time. Thus far, it’s worked out nicely. Buglioni is only 24 and has a real chance to fight on the world level. Khomitsky doesn’t look like a good match-up on paper, but his record is deceiving… In his last fight against Martin Murray (you know, the guy that half the people here think beat Sergio Martinez, you crazy people) I thought Khomitsky probably won that fight. The referee gave the fight to Murray (of course) but the seed was planted. Either Murray isn’t as good as we thought and Sergio was just injured in their fight, or Murray fought the fight of his life against Sergio and now he’s done, or Khomitsky is pretty good… or styles make fights. It’s one of these things. Either way, do not get this twisted. Buglioni is still far from ready to be on the world level, but the potential is there and this is a good test to see where they should go with his development.

Tony Conquest 13(5)-1 vs Ovill McKenzie 21(10)-12

12 rounds
cruiserweight division
Hmmmmm

Bradley Skeete 15(4)-0 vs Tobia Giuseppe Loriga 27(6)-3-2

12 rounds
welterweight division
How the hell do they keep finding these guys that are even more feather-fisted than Skeete? This guy was probably the master of finding Waldo when he was younger. Maybe there’s another version of Boxrec with sortable columns. A little bit of trivia for you guys. Loriga was once knocked out by Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. The contracted weight? 153 pounds! Can you imagine a Chavez that skinny!? Guess how much Chavez weighed on fight night? Yep, you guessed it. 171 pounds. How does he do it? Maybe he’s controlling gravity around him. That is the only explanation.
I don’t wanna hate on Skeete because that dude has a done of balls and heart. He goes out there and fights his ass off, but I’m just not interested in seeing it. Skeete is pretty masterful at jabbing and moving laterally to keep his opponent from planting his feet and mounting offense. When he’s cornered, he steps in and clinches. First and foremost, it works. He’s not undefeated because he hits like Roman Gonzalez. But if he did hit like Roman Gonzalez, Skeete would be a terrifying fighter. In fact, I like thinking about this. Alternate universe Bradley Skeete. He’s just the same except he’s got long hair and packs 1-punch power… and he’s promoted by Ricky Hatton. But that is all fantasy. The reality is that Skeete has an unappealing style to even the hardcore fans and while he keeps on winning, it add up to a hill of beans until he either changes his style or knocks out a real contender.
PS. I was kidding about Chavez's weight. He really did weigh in at 153, I have no clue what he weighed on the night of the fight.

Hughie Fury 13(8)-0 vs Danny Hughes 12(3)-2-2

6 rounds
heavyweight division
Hughie is the more talented of the Fury’s, but they aren’t rushing anything with him. What I love about Hughie is that he’s a giant of a man who isn’t afraid to go to the body. This shouldn’t be too difficult of a fight for the big guy.

Georgie Kean 3(1)-0 vs William Warburton 11(2)-60-3

4 rounds
welterweight division
Guess how many times Warburton has been knocked out.. Click here to check your answer. I bet you were wrong. This fight will make it on the card because Gorgeous Georgie Kean is pretty popular and moves tickets.

Chris Eubank Jr 13(8)-0 vs TBA

unknown rounds
probably middleweight division
Warren is throwing everything at the wall here! Eddie Chambers is also on the undercard, but I’m not putting anything else for this card.

My experience with Panama City, Panama

Exiting the Tocumen International airport, we’re in Panama. Now the fun begins. Hop into a yellow a taxi for one of the most exhilarating/terrifying drives of my life, the aggressive almost suicidal cab ride takes me through 20 minutes of adrenaline filled torment until I get to my hotel. I’m not going to complain about Panamanian drivers. They are very skilled, fast and with NASCAR type precision you can witness 3 cars all veering into the offramp with only a few horn blasts to let the other drivers know to watch for them. Worth the price of trip. Count your cash. The official currency of the country is the Balboa dollar, always on par with the American dollar, American cash is used exclusively. I was there 3 days before I seen my first Balboa dollar coin. Panama City is expensive. Don’t come down expecting the same type of 6 beers for 3 dollars you’d find at every bar in Cancun. Goes without saying, the closer you are to the tourist areas, the more you’ll pay. Food is no different. Speaking of food, don’t expect to have your socks blown off. There are many bland dishes being served, but don’t be scared to try something new. Most menu’s I came across were written all in Spanish and had limited pictures, so if you’re Spanish is subpar like mine, just point anywhere on the menu and enjoy your adventure. Only in town a few days, here are some of the tourist hubs I saw: Panama Canal – Further out of the city then I imagined. $15 dollar ticket per adult to enter the museum, free to enter the restaurant but you’ll still need to get a slip for entry. Museum is a good little interactive tour through the construction and history of everything involving the canal. Didn’t make it to the theater but had a few drinks in the bar overlooking the Flores Lock. Little did I know for that 2 hours we sat around, was that the canal comes to a standstill in the afternoon, I was under the assumption that it was a 24 hour operation. The various tour groups I seen come and go were just as unimpressed as we were. Find out from your tour guide if you’ll be seeing any boats. Casco Viejo – The old city. Read up on it, interesting spot if you’re a history buff. Casco Viejo is a conflicting spot these days, the redone buildings featuring hotels and cafes, mixed in with the fading buildings, housing squatters until the official eviction happens. The old city features a lovely Iglesia cathedral in the square. This square is your best bet to grab a taxi, or a tourist souvenir. Plenty of great views of downtown and the Amador Causeway. Amador Causeway – It’s a nice man made causeway connecting Panama city to 3 islands. Rent a pedal bike at the start of the causeway for $3 dollars and enjoy your ride. Great views of the boats entering the canal, the Bridge of the America’s and the downtown. A few pubs await you at the islands. La Tasca de Duran – I’m glad I found this restaurant! As a boxing fan it was a huge honor to visit Roberto “Hands of Stone” Duran’s restaurant. The place is more of a museum to the accomplishments of the former middleweight champion of the world’s accomplishments. Roberto Duran makes virtually nightly appearances so talk to the host to make sure he’s in that night. He will stop by every table to mingle and take pictures with fans, class act. The man is a Panamanian icon, they named an arena after the guy. He’s a big deal. Plenty of restaurants, pubs, bars and casinos to keep the adults entertained.
Like anywhere else, there are downsides to Panama city. Social disparity as the first, it was humbling to be standing next to an area “less desirable” while gazing into the vast wealth of downtown. It’s a good idea not to be hanging around certain areas. If you’re in one and think you shouldn’t be, trust that gut and catch a cab somewhere else. Gringos. You’ll be called one, and probably lots. There is a still lot of resentment towards America, one mural painting I found to be most symbolic was a man ripping a Panama flag, out of an American flag held by a smaller man. Cab drivers will have a special gringo price just for you; make sure to ask for a better deal. Also gringos, wear pants when going out if you want to sort of fit in. A wrist watch also seems to be trendy.
All in all I had a good time in Panama. An experience I wouldn’t trade for the world, but now that it’s off the “been there” list, I doubt I’ll find my way back there. Cheers and hope you have a good time.

CMV: I believe that large resort developments (for mass tourism) are not sustainable and ultimately bad for local economies.

Tourism is the major economy for many countries all over the world, especially developing ones. While it does provide people with jobs, and is effective in certain areas, I believe (in it's most popular form) it is not sustainable for the long term and does local economies more harm than good. I'm talking about places like Las Vegas, Cancun, island resorts, large casinos on Native American reservations, etc. Governments and large corporations use up natural resources to support the growing tourism industry, slowly destroying local heritage and the environment.
I think that resorts have a high potential to fail and are not sustainable long term because there is no demand for them, especially in the wake of a global recession. That's why surrounding a lot of tourist areas, locals are actually really poor.
Basically: people can't afford to go on vacation resorts make no money locals are out of work or not paid well there are no other jobs because the entire economy is built around the tourism industry. Meanwhile, the development of worldwide resorts that are all the same eats up resources, damages the environment, causes dehumanisation of people and institutions and homogenises the travel experience.
Is there anything I'm not considering? Can anyone provide evidence that these things are actually good for local economies long-term?
